Kagurabachi – Chapter #125
Frog F: Every scientist in Japan: “This could destroy civilization!” Kunishige: “Sounds forgeable.”
K Bug: To bypass the laws of nature and the doubts of man, all you need is heart, grit, a traditional Japanese forge, a handful of sushi chef clones, and a magic rock that causes untold destruction. And also eyes that work like muscles and not like regular eyes…but can still see. Easy.
Ichi the Witch – Chapter #87
Frog F: So I guess that’s that then? Honestly felt like Ichi ended the arc by accident.
K Bug: I’m not sure that somebody who wants to end the world has the right to judge anyone else’s actions. Then again, Fujimine is a crazy witch powered by a jellyfish monster; so I don’t think logic applies.
Under Doctor – Chapter #21
Frog F: Honestly, one of the cleanest examples of a plotline being born and quietly retired in the same chapter.
K Bug: Well, mystery solved: the fake Under Doctor had a sad backstory and all is forgiven…I guess.
Kinato’s Magic – Chapter #20
Frog F: The villains took a forbidden super-drug that destroys your body and Kinato’s first reaction was basically: “Have you considered drinking water and getting eight hours of sleep?”
K Bug: It’s kind of a flex to start examining someone’s poor form when they’re trying to intimidate you.
Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #11
Frog F: There sure is a lot of school curses of varying levels of absurdity. Also it looks like World Cup fever has taken hold of Roku and his house of oddities. *queues up Wavin’ Flag on Spotify*
K Bug: The mystery of Sachiko deepens. Although, that might have been slightly overshadowed by the giant Beethoven, multiple toilet ghosts, and anatomical soccer tournament. Slightly.
Someone Hertz – Chapter #38
Frog F: Mizuo ain’t going to let Mimei overtake her that easily. Eel Potato strikes back! Get it? Cause of the bowling and what not?
This week’s One-Liner Corner :
“I heard you live at a bowling alley. How is it?”
Frog F: I put the bowling shoes on once… now I legally can’t leave.
K Bug: All the rooms I need, plus a few spares.
Animal Signal – Chapter #3
Frog F: Another fun chapter. I really like the creativity of the anima powers and how strangely specific they are in the way that they manifest. This is good.
K Bug: Do the teachers ever do anything in these anime/manga schools? Why is it up to the newest student to fix weeks of animal-themed disturbances?
Hal Formula – Chapter #2
Frog F: The older brother is gonna die and the younger brother will become to protag after a time skip right? Am I the only one who is thinking this?
K Bug: Victory dwells within an insane mind, and a trained body…and a really fast car.
Cannon Master – Chapter #1
Frog F: This was actually pretty fun. It’s got shades of other series but feels pretty fresh in its presentation. The action sequences were well structured and the mentor and student dynamic looks like it’ll be fun to follow. The world seems intriguing and I think there is potential here depending what direction the author takes it. And now I’ll leave it to K Bug to sum things up a bit more succinctly..
K Bug: Krillin trains Goku so they can fight Zoids. Sick.
