Hunter x Hunter – Chapter #411
Frog F: Kurapika spends the whole chapter explaining Nen while the actual plot is still “multiple adults trying to eliminate a baby.”
K Bug: What a wicked web of wonder is woven. And are these bodyguards shocked or upset that they may not need to murder a baby? Because those are two very telling reactions.
One Piece – Chapter #1186
Frog F: This chapter really proves no matter how complex things get, Luffy’s plan never changes. Imu just became the latest problem getting punched.
K Bug: Brook has led an…eventful life. Bad events. Many, many bad events.
Ichi the Witch – Chapter #88
Frog F: The arc was really over before it truly begun. Well we got a fun magic ping pong match out of it atleast. So.. what’s next?
K Bug: Table tennis, saunas, and blood contracts…magic is odd.
Under Doctor – Chapter #22
Frog F: That fake Under Doctor arc ended quicker than expected, but credit where it’s due, we finally got an actual operation.
K Bug: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; it’s just a little dangerous to do so in the field of medicine.
Kinato’s Magic – Chapter #21
Frog F: Between this fight and the chemistry between Kinato and Terasu, the series really feels like it’s hitting its stride now. I’ll be praying to the jump gods that this series doesn’t get axed. It has so much potential to grow into something truly special if they let it.
K Bug: Can unhealthy power be bested by a thorough massage and some dancing? Maybe, this series is kinda weird like that.
Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #12
Frog F: You can see the blueprint here, weird comedy now, but the potential to pivot into a Reborn!-style battle shonen later.
K Bug: The build-up of dangerous gases is actually why people stopped using phone booths. That and mobile phones.
Someone Hertz – Chapter #39
Frog F: At this point they’re basically together, they’re just taking the longest possible route to realise it.
This week’s One-Liner Corner :
Mon-mid on break so no one liner this week.
Animal Signal – Chapter #4
Frog F: There’s something about a maid café turning into a high-stakes animal incident that just works.
K Bug: Maids. Why is it always maids?
Hal Formula – Chapter #3
Frog F: He’s definitely going to die, and the pro driver ends up mentoring his younger brother. I’m calling it now. Bookmark this, because I’m telling you that’s exactly where this is going.
K Bug: All important life-or-death career choices happen in a Porsche…probably.
Cannon Master – Chapter #2
Frog F: It’s early, but the confidence of this manga is kind of infectious. I dig it so far.
K Bug: Nothing makes a job easier than additional tasks, and management looking over your shoulder.
