Quick Thoughts on the manga we read:

Ichi the Witch – Chapter #82

Frog F: These magiks really be out here giving glocks to kids? Interesting lore drops in this chapter. This story arc is putting the pedal to the metal and I can dig it. This Minakata bloke is pretty cool.

K Bug: It’s cool that Ichi’s mentor is technically more of a rookie than he is. It’s also cool that he has a magic weapon and can go toe-to-toe with a lady who was given a magic Gatling gun from a magic gun fairy. …this is a weird series, isn’t it?

Under Doctor – Chapter #16

Frog F: This was another slow down chapter for Under Doctor, which is honestly not a bad thing at all. This manga seems more and more confident in itself and its nice to see a bit more fleshing out of the cast with both this week and last week’s chapters.

K Bug: On the one hand, it’s good that this series is teaching people important medical knowledge; on the other, I’m now frightened of libraries.

Kinato’s Magic – Chapter #15

Frog F: Kinato coming in hot with the multiple pelvic adjustments! Digging the direction of this new arc and curious how the training will unfold. I suspect things might go awry with this faction within the Majo that is seemingly unhappy with the decisions of the chief. Can Kinato unite the Majo with the power of pelvic adjustment?

K Bug: Got accepted for training? Check. Made a good impression on the cute clan leader? Check. Potentially gave social ammunition to the person probably planning a coup? Also check. …oh.

Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #6

Frog F: At first I was a bit disappointed this chapter wasn’t going to be Big Dog focused but by the end it turned out to be a really wholesome chapter. The part where the Science Club members expresses happiness that Roku is no longer alone after losing his parents is a genuinely sweet moment amongst the comedy. The world of Roku is starting to expand and I dig it.

K Bug: Ah yes, the classic “you spoke to a girl so now we must destroy you” trope. I don’t think that one usually involves a giant dog, but I’ve never been to a Japanese high school; what would I know?

Class 2-B: Hero Destroyerz – Chapter #4

Frog F: I have no clue what the direction is for this manga. It is absolutely absurd but in classic Sorachi fashion, I can’t bring myself to look away. The fight in this chapter between Kumon and the Hero was ridiculous but nonetheless hilarious. This is such a bizarre manga and I don’t anticipate it being particularly long running but I’m aboard for the ride.
