One Piece – Chapter #1193
Frog F: Nice to see Zoro getting some focus again. It definitely feels like we’re barrelling towards the climax of Elbaph now. Also, what is the owl guy about to reveal? Let’s just get to it and not drag this out like Vegapunk’s broadcast.
K Bug: “Now stand still, I gotta practice my stabbing.”
Akane-Banashi – Chapter #222
Frog F: This manga is beautifully drawn and envisioned. No other manga makes me feel quite the way Akane-Banashi does. It truly is a special story. And with that, Issho takes the stage.
Ichi the Witch – Chapter #98
Frog F: This is Kumugi’s arc. Very nice chapter with Kumugi taking the spotlight. Gokuraku was quite funny and cool in this chapter as well. Boxster continues to be as pointless as a screendoor on a submarine. Do something, dude!
K Bug: Yay, Kumugi character development. Also, bitchin’ new gun ghost. Double also, lots of dogs. Neat.
Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #22
Frog F: This manga rules. I had a good laugh at the exorcist guys’ reaction to Roku accidentally breaking the seal on the curses perfectly. I’m really enjoying the continued expansion of the cast and the way Kokubunji Town is being built out as a setting. This manga is such a pleasure to read each week, and I really hope it continues for a long, long time.
K Bug: Pretty reasonable conclusion to a conversation between two initially opposed groups. Rare, for a manga…and life, now that I think about it.
Someone Hertz – Chapter #49
Frog F: Things are finally coming to a climax with the school festival arc. The Mon-Mid guys have rocked up to the school and look like they are about to cross paths with Mimei! I hope that this leads to Mimei confessing to Mizuo and the series just lets them be a couple moving forward.
Graykeith: Translator Daemonica – Chapter #2
Frog F: Another fantastic chapter. I really liked the colour page as well. So many great little details. The world of this manga continues to be incredibly richly detailed and brilliant in its conception. I like the dynamic between the main girl and Graykeith with him consistently rejecting her requests to be his apprentice. This chapter also did a great job with the translation premise and the grim reaper character was a delight. This manga is very promising so far.
K Bug: Translators really do be burning the candle at both ends…and then a second candle…then a third. You think they could just do an audio book and skip all the, you know, dying?
Animal Signal – Chapter #14
Frog F: Should this not have happened in the first chapter or two? It feels a little late to finally give the series an overarching narrative direction after 13 aimless weeks of animal-of-the-week chapters. But hey, better late than never. Let’s see if this can save it from the axe.
K Bug: Tsubasa’s career depends on likes from social media… How…modern?
Cannon Master – Chapter #12
Frog F: Is this heading for the axe, or are we about to switch protagonist? We’ll know soon enough.
K Bug: Take that, villain, a beam struggle against a Master-Apprentice Cannon. …I am having the worst case of deja mustard right now.
