Kagurabachi – Chapter #126
Frog F: This chapter hit me like a ton of bricks. Welcome back, Takeru Hokazono. You’ve been sorely missed.
K Bug: Why aren’t there ever any backstories where people are just chill and nice? Or at least ones where the chill and nice folk make it out of the backstory?
One Piece – Chapter #1189
Frog F: I can’t remember the Monster Trio ever feeling this outmatched. Is it finally time for God Usopp to do what he does best and save the day?
K Bug: If nineteen blades conquered the world, I’m curious to see what happened to the twentieth that decided not to.
Hunter x Hunter – Chapter #415
Frog F: I genuinely think it takes me longer to read a single chapter of Hunter x Hunter than it does to read every other Jump chapter combined each week. Not a criticism, just an observation.
K Bug: Gotta love a series where a major antagonist’s decades-long plan can be undermined because one guy decided to manifest his superpower as a video game.
Ichi the Witch – Chapter #92
Frog F: Hakari is one seriously angry majik. It’d be pretty funny if this mission ended with kind-hearted Kumugi of all people acquiring her as her first majik. That would be a fun twist.
K Bug: Dude, Magik, Man of Many Mood Swings, just live in a house that doesn’t need to kill people. It doesn’t even look cool, and your interior decorating is atrocious.
Under Doctor – Chapter #26
Frog F: I still don’t really understand Haiji’s approach to hiding his identity as the Under Doctor. It feels very selective. Sometimes he’ll openly reveal himself as the Under Doctor without any concern over who sees him, yet other times he’s using fake names and wearing masks as if keeping his identity secret is crucial.
K Bug: Okay, but why did Haiji bring rolls of coloured triage tape to dinner?
Kinato’s Magic – Chapter #25
Frog F: I’m really enjoying seeing Kinato’s unique personality come into its own. I am a little worried the story is racing toward an ending because of a potential axing, though. I really hope that’s not the case, because this series has been great.
K Bug: Kind of a baller move to tell a villain to come back later ’cause you’ve got more important stuff to do.
Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #16
Frog F: Is Roku about to lean fully into battle manga territory? I really hope it doesn’t lose the slice-of-life comedy that gives it so much charm. I don’t mind the occasional fight, but I’d hate to see that become the main focus.
K Bug: Being so weak that you somehow make someone else stronger has to be a blow to the ego, especially when it helps their id consume your superego.
Someone Hertz – Chapter #43
Frog F: Can somebody please turn the radio back on already?
Animal Signal – Chapter #8
Frog F: My biggest takeaway from this chapter: puffer fish kid was insufferable.
K Bug: Why is it always fish Anima that give people superpowers? Underwater bias, I tell you.
Hal Formula – Chapter #7
Frog F: “The Emperor”… Michael Schumacher.
K Bug: Surprise Schumacher. Also, constantly almost dying seems like a rather unsustainable driving style. Just sayin’.
Cannon Master – Chapter #6
Frog F: This manga just keeps getting better. It feels like we’re finally on the verge of its first major story arc.
K Bug: So this minister held hostage negotiations with a giant mechanical death raven? Props.
