One Piece – Chapter #1183
Frog F: Backstory drop! Who’d have thought we would get a Brook backstory in Elbaph? Could it be coincidence that we get a backstory for Rocks and Brook in the same arc? I think not. We shall see.
K Bug: Setting the record for the longest gap between being slashed, anime-style, and suddenly falling down. Props.
Kagurabachi – Chapter #122
Frog F: Yeah these Mikaboshi fellas gotta go. Drop the nuke swords on em’ Rokuhira. Anyone else deeply concerned by Chiaki’s absense in present day after seeing these recent chapters?
K Bug: For people who have been planning their revenge for over a thousand years, you think the Mikaboshi would foresee that demanding a precious mineral and a princess for the purpose of impregnating and then murdering wouldn’t exactly lead to a swift resolution in their favour. Yeah, those are the kind of demands that lead to some magical swords getting made.
Ichi the Witch – Chapter #83
Frog F: Ichi just don’t give a damn. This gatling gun wielding witch doesn’t faze him in the slightest. Cool to see Ichi tapping into his hunting roots once again.
K Bug: Ice clones: neat. Cool to see Ichi using his collected Magiks again. Also, “You, sir, have asked for it” is obviously now in my vocabulary forever.
Under Doctor – Chapter #17
Frog F: Another slice of life style chapter from Under Doctor. I must say I am rather enjoying these last few chapters and their slower pace. It’s nice to get to know the characters a bit more and this one was a sweet chapter. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Hana. Haiji is a good bloke.
K Bug: Medicine doesn’t seem that hard a profession when the series cuts out all that pesky surgery and recovery stuff. Glad it all worked out off-screen, though.
Kinato’s Magic – Chapter #16
Frog F: Kinato appears to have some manner of inexplicable rizz with the ladies. The chief of the Majo has essentially fallen head over heels for the bloke. I do like the idea that he may learn some dance-based support skill for his magic.
K Bug: I’m not sure if Terasu is writing a detailed account of events or a self-insert fan fiction. Either way, very informative.
Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #7
Frog F: This was a super wholesome chapter. I like that the series is exploring some more emotional story beats in a rather earnest way. The real key to me is that although it is surrounded by comedy elements, it never really undercuts the sincerity of these moments and the found family bond between Roku and his curses is really firing right for me.
K Bug: Who knew family diners were so existential? And also let really big dogs sit at the tables?
Someone Hertz – Chapter #34
Frog F: Yes, I am adding Someone Hertz to our weekly rotation. I caught up on the manga recently and yeah it is pretty great. Look’s like we are jumping into the next big arc with Mimei entering the Rookie Cup for Mon-Mid’s One Liner Corner. You can do it Owl Woods!
Class 2-B: Hero Destroyerz – Chapter #5
Frog F: I really have no clue what is happening with this manga. It spun its wheels for weeks and now suddenly we are in the demon world. I don’t know if this has much legs. The general concept is funny but it can only be stretched so far. We did finally get some new characters introduced so let’s see how this unfolds from here but it is on shaky ground currently.
