Quick Thoughts on the manga we read:
Kagurabachi – Chapter #120
Frog F: Are these guys about to break the ‘Elite Squad’ curse in Kagaurabachi? Let’s see if John Mikaboshi can withstand the power of a ‘giant chunk of iron’ crashing down on his head.
K Bug: If violence isn’t solving your problem, you simply aren’t using enough of it; if sorcery is off the table, flip the table and crush a warship into a ball and throw that ball into the sky and hold a bad guy in place with gravity and self-impalement but get teleported away at the last second so only the bad guy gets crushed by the aforementioned ball that once was a warship. It’s a well known saying, guys.
One Piece – Chapter #1181
Frog F: Interesting comments by Imu while he is mopping the floor with Loki here. Intriguing call out to Luffy referring to him as ‘Joyboy’. What does it all mean? Side note: it was funny seeing Imu hitting the classic One Piece over the top reaction shot. Keen to see Luffy and Imu face to face soon.
K Bug: Imu’s getting all philosophical on us…he also got hit into a tree by a hammer, so he’s kind of having a weird day. Also, his philosophy is rude and he is a meanie.
Ichi the Witch – Chapter #80
Frog F: The surprise twist of the traitor was surprising to say the least. Who’d have guessed they would be a character introduced for the first time in this chapter that we have never seen before? I mean, it’s something different I guess.
K Bug: Well, that was a short lived mystery. I mean, there’s a chance that the new bad witch has some kind of mind-control poison, but that seems like something to investigate after stopping the person who can summon a Minigun.
Under Doctor – Chapter #14
Frog F: That pretty much all went as was expected. That said it was nicely executed despite being totally predictable story wise. I assume Maxell will return as an ally in the future. Still not quite sure what sort of manga this is trying to be but I’m along for the ride as this point.
K Bug: And so, the doctor saved the assassin by convincing him that dying is not the best solution to a problem; neither is killing. Leaping from the 44th story is also a bad idea. I’m learning so much today.
Kinato’s Magic – Chapter #13
Frog F: The low ranking for Kinato’s Magic is concerning. But the manga feels like it is confidently moving onwards with what looks to be a training arc on the horizon for Kinato. I hope this one survives the early axe and is given the chance to reach its potential. It really has the chance to be something special if they will just give it a shot to grow.
K Bug: Did none of these protagonists watch Dragon Ball? Did nobody learn anything from the dangers of the Kaio-ken? Oh well, I guess we got to meet a doctor lady with tentacle magic because Kinato punched his arms broken… Manga is weird, isn’t it?
Roku’s House of Oddities – Chapter #4
Frog F: Another fun chapter of Roku’s House of Oddities. I am guessing be the pattern forming that we will be doing a bit of a chapter per curse spirit to kick things off. Last week was Johan and this week is Sachiko. The Johan chapter was more laugh out loud funny, this week was a bit more sentimental and kinda sweet. This manga continues defying expectations. I dig it a lot.
K Bug: So the schoolgirl is a school curse? It’s so obvious…and still doesn’t explain anything. It’s nice that she can enjoy manga, though.
Class 2-B: Hero Destroyerz – Chapter #2
Frog F: Can someone please let this guy take a dump in peace? Another fun chapter and the series is building. How much plot they can mine from the premise remains to be seen but I think there is a chance that Sorachi-sensei may have another hit on his hands.
